Every woman envies the dating life of a Diva and for good reason: Diva's have the dating game down to a science. Put these 5 quick Diva dating tips to use and watch the men start lining up outside your door: 1. Stop Being A Pleaser Don't fall into the trap of trying to impress a man by handing over a laundry list of your best qualities or purposely agreeing with everything he says. Why bother? You're fabulous and you know it! Divas sit back calm, cool and a bit coy and let the man work for their attention and interest. 2. Drink Responsibly If you still party like a sorority girl, very few men will take you seriously. Divas are well aware of this and exercise care when consuming alcohol on dates. Know your limits and switch to a non-alcoholic beverage once you find yourself starting to slip past the "feel-good buzz" zone. 3. Caress Him With Your Eyes Eye contact is a powerful weapon in the Diva arsenal. Staring directly into a person's eyes causes their body to release "PEA", the chemical that creates the butterflies, tingling, and changes in heart rate that accompany attraction. Use this technique to your advantage and flood your date's body with heart-melting love chemicals. 4. Use Your Vibe To Communicate Sexually Divas don't use heavy makeup, revealing clothing or overt sexual gestures to increase their perceived attractiveness. Instead, you should adhere to the Diva way of broadcasting a subtle, sexual vibe by using the power of your mind. To do this, think sexual thoughts and allow those good feelings to wash over you as you remain relaxed and composed on the outside. Putting yourself in this state of mind will transmit these feelings to your date and make him wonder why he suddenly feels so irresistibly attracted to you. 5. Give Him The Greatest Gift Of All The greatest gift a Diva can give her date is her full attention. Since most men aren't used to having a woman hanging on their every word, you'll be creating a vacuum that allows him to open up to you. And the added benefit it that he will find you absolutely captivating, even if you don't do much talking at all.

This look is classic! The “smokey eye” is always a fashion winner when done the “right way”.

To get this sultry look, line the eyes with our m.vie Black Eye Pencil then smudge the pencil using the Tapered Angle Brush. Apply the Onyx Eyeshadow all over the eyelid. Under the lower lashes apply the Onyx eye shadow blended with the Deluxe Fluff Brush. Apply our creamy Smoke Mascara to the top and bottom eyelashes. Voila a sultry smokey eye! If it’s good enough for Gwenyth…right?

Note: the eyebrows and lip color are on the lighter side to offset the smokey eyes.

XOXO

Fall is now in full swing, even in LA with the big storm that blew through yesterday during our shoot! I just love the change of Seasons. It’s a chance to mix up one’s wardrobe by busting out the leather jackets and cashmere sweaters. Not mention all of the fun accessories there are to play with like hats and scarves paired with sweaters and boots! I’ve linked a few of my personal MV favorites here:)

The look above was created with the  m. vie Cocoa Classic Collection on our models eyes. Passion Pink Lipstick is paired with Precious Pink Blush to compliment (not compete with) the sleek faux leopard beret… Meow!

Enjoy!

Sitting in the Admirals Club at LAX and delayed yet again. Not sure what is going on as there is not a cloud in the sky here. Oh well, I’ll just turn this inconvenience into an opportunity to blog away!

I’m noticing all of the many travelers and their different looks, accents, ages and dispositions. Some are rushing by fast and furious while others bide their time, such as myself. The one thing 99.9% of these people have in common is some sort of communication device attached to their bodies. In a hand pocket, bag or lap there sits an iPhone, Blackberry, Droid, MacBook Pro, Dell or Sony laptops, iPad, Kindle or Nook etc. Some even operating two to three devices simultaneously. It brings to mind the question, whatever did we do before all of this technology? Good old fashioned conversation perhaps?

I, of course, am thinking of the exciting weekend that awaits me in Chicago where MV welcomes the new winners of the Feeling Fabulous Makeover Contest. We have two lovely ladies arriving tomorrow for the treat of a lifetime. Not only will they receive head to toe makeovers from the talented staff at Maxine Salon but they will receive a beautiful new wardrobe from MV complete with fashion forward styles and accessories. They will then be wined, dined and toured through the Windy City. I can’t wait for you to see the “before” and “after” photos we will be taking of our lovely ladies not to mention the new makeover video! Hopefully there will be many smiling faces as a result of this contest.

So stay tuned, to whatever “Smart” device you may have, for the makeover results in the very near future!

XOXO

Maureen

PS I am currently operating only two devices myself;)

Now that it’s almost officially Fall. What flavor/color lipstick will you be wearing this Season? It’s that time of year when the wardrobe gets a bit more textured and the makeup gets a bit bolder. I’m going red…m. vie Poppy, to be exact. It’s a classic red, dress it up, dress it down or vamp it up with m. vie’s Port. Be bold and just go for it;) It’s Fall fashion, why not?

Greetings Ladies;) If you haven’t already tried the m. vie Mineral Makeup line, you may want to consider the Starter Kit. This is a great way to try the products without too great an investment, although I’m sure you will love them! If you are already an m. vie customer, you may want to consider adding a Starter Kit to your collection. I love the great cosmetic bag and the size of the products for my purse and/or just for travel!

Enjoy!

When life gives you jewels…wear them! ;) It’s so much fun to see all of the colors shown this Summer in clothing, accessories and, of course,  makeup! Being that it is hard to ever get me out of my black wardrobe, with occasional splash of gray, I can still appreciate the beauty of it all. Also, I believe when wearing jewel tone accessories and/or clothing it is nice to neutralize the makeup to an extent.

However, the look can still be dramatic, like the one shown above on our gorgeous MV model. She is wearing m. vie’s Passion Pink Lipstick complimented by a Pink Blush on the apples of the cheeks. Her eyes are done with the Classic Cocoa Eyeshadow Quad, Black Eyeliner Pencil and several coats of Smoke Mascara.

And vice versa, you can wear jewel tone makeup and neutral clothing. It’s just nice if the clothing and makeup compliment each other not combat each other;)

Enjoy!

As most of you know I am a stickler for sunscreen and skincare:) If you haven’t already tried the m. vie Luminosity Skincare, now is a great time to start. With the entire line on sale you can get amazing pieces on high end, quality products that I use on myself and the models I work with.

I use the Papaya Enzyme Cleanser and Toner everyday, morning and night, to cleanse and prep my face before moisturizing. A few of my personal hydrating favorites are the  PepToxyl Protection SPF 30 for daytime, Collagen Elastin Creme for night time and the Liftoxyl Eye Perfector Creme morning and night.

However, I add a Mask and Scrub once or twice throughout the week to add to the exfoliation and hydration of my skin.

Have fun seeing and feeling the luminous difference in your skin!

Our cover model, Jeanette, is wearing our m. vie  Tangerine Dream Collection. This is a fine representation of a fresh Summer look. The warmth of the Tangerine colors create a sun kissed look. In order to give more definition to the eyes I added the Black Eye Pencil on the inner rim of the lower lash line eye and along the top lash line as well.

Also, for more definition to the cheeks and eyes I added a bit  of the Precious Pink Blush to the apples of the cheeks and the outer corner of the brow bone.

Pair up these beauty tips along with this sassy Halter Sweater from MV and make a real splash your next pool party! Enjoy!
